Celtic Eye on Camel Brown

Iron Age Celts impressed their gold, silver & bronze coins with their own tribal artistry and unique style, incorporating images of kings, warriors riding in victory, mythical gods & goddesses, horses, amazing beasts, as well as abstract patterns and symbols.

This Celtic coin is from the Gaulic Treviri tribe who lived in southeast Belgium in the 2nd-1st Century BC. The abstract design has a profile eye with a wheel as a pupil, stars & pattern symbolizing tribal topographical mappings as seen from above.
